Hibe is the perfect way to share information about your life while in control of your online image. Our goal is to provide you with the much-needed privacy required to interact online. As such, we wrote this policy to highlight our commitment to confidentiality and privacy.
The present Privacy Policy defines the type of information Hibe Inc and its subsidiaries ("us", "we", the "Company") may collect from users through Hibe and the modalities of using the collected information. The present Privacy Policy also explains in which manner the user can control use of the provided information. By using Hibe, you expressly consent to the modalities of use of the collected information as described herein.
Unless otherwise defined herein, capitalized terms shall have the meanings assigned to such terms in the Hibe Terms of Service that you can find at http://www.hibe.com/support/terms and which incorporates this Privacy Policy by reference.
Information collected through Hibe ("Collected Information") comprises of:
When you visit or use Hibe, you may provide various types of information, including, but not limited to, profile and facet settings, personal identifiable information (such as your name, email address, date of birth, and postal mailing address), user-generated information for sharing with other users (such as description, pictures, logos, etc.) and relation-based information (such as an identification of friends and other interests) allowing for building and customizing your relationships with other users (hereinafter "Personal Data").
The Personal Data you provide is collected, stored, transferred, processed or/and used by us so that we can provide you the Services and offer you personalized features and services.
Hibe provides a service that enables you to add contacts in your network. If you choose to use this service, information about your contact (such as name and email address) may be required. The use of this information is strictly limited to providing you with the service. When you include a contact in your network, a notification might be sent in your name notifying your contact of their inclusion in your network. When choosing this service, you hereby consent, give instructions to and authorize Hibe to collect and store the contact information that you provide to track your inclusion in your contacts' networks and to provide you with the ability to send reminders to your contacts.
Also, you consent that Hibe may use your contact information for any administration and customer service purposes, such as, but not limited to, Hibe update notifications and IP infringement or defamation notifications.
When you visit and/or use Hibe, we may store certain information using a "cookie". A cookie is a piece of data that Hibe installs on your computer to help us automatically authenticate you. If you want to disable this feature, you can remove or block these cookies using your browser settings. However, if you decide to remove or block these cookies, some features may not work properly.
To provide enhanced security, cookies are set to expire after seven days.
When you visit and/or use Hibe or when you use Hibe features and services, we may automatically collect and store certain information related to your system, including, but not limited to, your IP Address, your operating system and your software version. We might also collect and store tracking data about feature use, services, content access, as well as the dates and times of your visits.
We aggregate and/or anonymize this information to generate performance and activity reports and to help us in providing you personalized features and services.
Some of this information is displayed on Hibe based on your privacy settings in various forms including, but not limited to, feed posts, notifications and activities.
We DO NOT rent, sell or share Collected Information with other organizations for marketing or promotional uses.
As mentioned hereinabove, we use the Collected Information to provide, operate, maintain, enhance, update and create new features and services according to our assessment of your need. We use it as well to track users and user-generated content to the extent necessary to comply as a service provider with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable laws.
Besides, we may disclose the totality or part of the Collected Information to Hibe subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other businesses or contractors to provide web site hosting, maintenance, and security services; conduct data analysis and create reports; and assist us in improving Hibe and creating new services and features. We contractually require that these parties process such information in compliance with the present Privacy Policy; we authorize only a limited use of such information, and we require these parties to use reasonable confidentiality measures.
We may disclose the Collected Information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights. We may retain and/or disclose Collected information, if we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activities or fraud, situations involving the physical safety of any person, violations of Hibe's Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by applicable law.
Hibe primary function is to provide you with the control on how you share your information. We advise you to learn what makes Hibe unique and undertake the necessary precautions when you provide online information to other users. We cannot control the legality of use by others of information you disclose or share therewith, and we assume no responsibility whatsoever in that regard. You are solely responsible for any abusive, undesired or illegal use that might occur with respect to the disclosed or shared information.
By viewing embedded videos from various third parties' platforms, and by importing email addresses on Hibe, some limited and required Collected Information is transmitted to the various providers such as, but not limited to, Youtube, Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail, in order to provide the requested service. This information is usually limited to the required networking data and may in some instances include "Cookie" information.
You should be aware that the transmitted information becomes subject to these third parties respective agreements and privacy rules and policies. We bear no responsibility and we have no control over use of the provided information by these third parties as well as over their applicable use agreements and privacy policies and rules with respect to Collected Information.
Hibe enable you to access and share third parties' Web site links. We strongly advise you to make sure that you are still in Hibe before posting information. We are of course not responsible for the privacy practices of other Web sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave Hibe, and to read the privacy policies of each and every Web site that collects your information. The present Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Hibe.
Hibe helps you to control and securely share your information. Hibe provides you with features that allow you to define your relationships with whom you wish to share information. These features also help you to define and select the information you wish to share. As an excessive privacy measure, you may, of course, decide not to provide personal information over Hibe; however, in this case, we will not be able to provide you access to certain available features and services. As another control of your information, you may at any time view, update, correct and delete at least a part of your personal information and preferences by accessing the appropriate available options in your profile window.
We also believe that all information you share on Hibe should remain under your control. On Hibe you can remove any information you disclose. Removing such information will also remove all the associated comments and will automatically remove it from your contacts feed.
All removed information might remain up to thirty one (31) days in our backup data.
To protect your privacy and security, we undertake reasonable security measures to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE SECRECY OF YOUR AUTHENTICATION CREDENTIALS AT ALL TIMES.
We use commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission of information, we make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of our systems. However, please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
If we learn of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We may post a notice on Hibe if a security breach occurs. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive a free written notice of a security breach you should notify us at privacy@hibe.com.
If you are a person under 14, do not attempt to register on Hibe or transmit any personal information. If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 14 who has become a member of the Community, then please contact Hibe at privacy@hibe.com to have that child's account terminated and information deleted.
By using Hibe, you consent to have your Collected Information transferred, stored, and/or processed in the United States.
In the event that Hibe is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information that we have collected from you as part of that merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In respect to the trust you give us, we will notify you by email at least two weeks before any transfer or assignment occurs.
This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically and this will be reflected by a "last modified" date below. You will be notified of each revision through your designated email address.
Your access to Hibe consists of a clear and non-equivoque consent to all terms and conditions set up in the present Privacy Policy. Your continuation to use Hibe further to any future revision or update of the present Privacy Policy consists of a clear and non-equivoque consent from your part to all terms and conditions set up in the revised or updated version of the present.
